New Law effects customers planning on moving to Morocco.
As from 20th January 2011 a new law came into force in Morocco stating that second hand vehicles older than five years may not be imported into Morocco.
For second hand vehicles older than five years, a temporary admission period of six months is still possible. In this instance, the customer will have to export the vehicle from Morocco within this six month period.
This procedure will not apply to diplomats with ‘diplomatic corps’ status.
All vehicles and motorcycles must now be officially approved by the Moroccan government before importation.
Failure to abide by these new regulations will result in lengthy delays at port and a probability that the shipment will be turned around and shipped back to where it originated.
