Moving to Saudi Arabia – Port Delays in Riyadh Due to Congestion
We have received advice from our shipping lines who are advising that they are currently experiencing delays with Riyadh bound containers as a new and inexperienced railway contractor has taken over the handling from April 2012, resulting in difficulties in the mobilization of containers which have hampered the flow of Riyadh bound containers.
There are approximately a total of 8,750 Riyadh bound containers still in Dammam Saudi Arabia. The various shipping lines are trying to have these cargos loaded as soon as possible. Given the situation, please be advised that there will be a delay in the rail connection owing to the congestion.
As of now, no booking restriction is required at this juncture. We will keep you posted on the latest developments once we have more information.
