On Saturday 22nd March 2014, two ships collided in the Houston Ship Channel near Texas City in Texas. The U.S. Coast Guard is handling the coordination and ongoing emergency response efforts.
As a result, the Houston Ship Channel remains closed to all vessels until further notice. It is unclear how long the Houston Ship Channel will remain closed.
