Abels have been advised though the Harmony Relocation Network about shipments into Nigeria.
Harmony Relocation Network was informed by Africa Mobility Services that they had received details that all shipments into Nigeria need to be packed into Liftvans or palletised. This includes shipments in sea freight containers which will also need to be in Liftvans or palletised.
The circular that indicated the new rules for Liftvan use or Palletisation for items into Nigeria was dated 11th April 2017 and gave a 3 month grace period. This means that it is expected that the enforcement to the new rules will commence on the 11th July 2017.
When items are shipped in Liftvans this means that the maximum volume in a container is likely to be reduced by around 12.5 percent. The likely volume will then be around 875cuft in a 20ft FCL Container, and 1750cuft in a 40ft container.
