Moving to Egypt – Gas and Fuel Shortages and Travel Warnings

  • News

For those planning on moving to Egypt, we have been advised about Gas and Fuel Shortages in the country. We have also received travel Warnings for certain areas within Egypt.

On the 2nd July 2013 Abels Moving Services have been advised by our agents in Egypt that the country is now facing Gas and Fuel Shortages as a result of continued unrest in Egypt.

For those having items delivered to Egypt they will find the delivery of household goods will be delayed in some areas of the country, and in some instances can not be delivered at all. The road between Cairo and Alexander is currently unsafe and therefore our agents will not transport containers on this route.

Additional information on the 3rd July 2013, from the UK Government Foreign and Commonwealth Office is that the FCO recommends against all but essential current travel to Egypt. The FCO does however state that travel to resorts on the Red Sea in South Sinai and those resorts on the Egyptian mainland in Red Sea governorate are not affected by the main country warning of travel.
