For customers planning on moving to and from Beijing in China we have been advised of truck movement restrictions during the IAAF World Athletics Championships and World War II Victory Parade between Aug 20th 2015 and 3rd Sep 2015.
During the period August 20 to September 3, 2015, Beijing will impose a traffic regulation that bans half of its vehicles on their roads during the “IAAF World Athletics Championships” and the “World War II Victory Parade”.
The traffic restriction will only allow trucks to run between the hours of 12.00am to 6.00am. In addition, the odd and even license plate number rule applies to trucks running between 3.00am to 6.00am. As an example, license plate numbers ending with an odd number are allowed to drive Aug 21, 23, 25 and so on and plate numbers ending with an even number are allowed to drive Aug 20, 22, 24 and so on.
A lot of Beijing compounds will not allow loading or delivery between 12.00am to 6.00am and delays will be expected for all shipments in and out of Beijing. In the event of an urgent packing or delivery required during this period, there could well be additional costs incurred.
