Abels Moving Services have been advised of the merger of Hapag-Lloyd and CSAV container business. The announcement by Rolf Habben Jansen, Anthony J.Firmin and Peter Ganz on Tuesday the 2nd of December 2014 stated that it was a big day for Hapag-Lloyd.
Following months of preparation, and just a few hours ago Hapag-Lloyd overcame the final obstacles to complete the merger of Hapag-Lloyd and CSAV’s container business.
The statement goes on to state: “As a result, the new Hapag-Lloyd will now be able to offer an even better product and an even greater variety of services. A larger fleet of vessels, one of the most extensive and modern fleets of containers, an expanded service network with additional port connections, shorter transit times, cabotage shipments in South America and a stronger sales team are just some of the many advantages that come from the merger”
The statement by Hapag-Lloyd goes on to state: “We have worked towards this day with a great deal of commitment and motivation in recent months and have done everything within our power to guarantee a smooth transition. For the time being there will be no substantial changes for our customers, with all existing contracts will be honoured and the entire booking and customer service will continue as today. Hapag will begin the gradual transfer of CASV services to the Hapag-Lloyd IT Systems in March 2015. By mid 2015 we expect to merge all operational items and then be one company in the future.”
