Abels at the London Regent Street Motor Show November 2014
Abels Moving Services as one of the sponsors of the London to Brighton Vintage Car Run took part in the Saturday Regent Street Motor Show.
Regent Street Motor Show – Abels Pantechnicon |
The motor show takes place on Regent Street which is closed to vehicle traffic between Oxford Circus and Piccadilly Circus with the show open to the general public. The show is very popular, last year recording over 400,000 visitors.
As part of the display provided by Abels were two vehicles.
One was an Abels modern removal front half of an 18 metre Road Train with ecological Euro6 engine with its air-ride suspension and accommodation to sleep 3 while transporting up to 105 cubic metres of possessions. This Abels Removal vehicle is secure and alarmed with satellite tracking devices, recording and mobile technology as standard, and is shown alongside one of the company’s first removal trucks.
This original horse drawn truck shown above, a 37cwt drop well body removal pantechnicon. Built in 1896 (the year of the emancipation run for cars to drive without a red flag waving person in front of them) and built by Hyde and Cheshire.
Throughout the day demonstrations were provide by Abels Staff with loading and unloading various items including Pianos, grandfather clocks, barometers crated paintings and other large household goods.
Among the other displays this year in Regent Street was the vintage cars collection. More than 100 vintage cars took place plus Grand Prix legions, Porsche cars, Top Gear Simulator, Tesla cars, BMW, Renault, Morgan classics, and Mustang old and new.
A wonderful event right in the heart of London City, showing over 120 years of motoring to the old and young. Roll on the first Saturday in November 2015.
