Following on from two, day long visits by H M Revenue & Customs, Abels has received confirmation it’s Brandon facility will remain classified as an approved facility for the temporary storage of uncleared personal and household effects import shipments from outside the European Union.
Abels have had the facility approved since 1998, however, new EU legislation required a total re-assessment to meet an exacting criteria. The new approval lasts until November 2018 when a re-evaluation will take place to ensure compliance levels and continuing economic needs have been established, to allow for a five year extension.
This facility is essential to meet our customers needs and allows a speedy transfer from ports of arrival into our safe storage area where consignments can be held pending customs clearance and / or inspection, reducing risks and costs.
