Historically, Abels have always recognised and celebrated notable achievements by individuals within our organisation. This has continued to this day and is a key part of our commitment to develop team members during their career path in our great industry.
Today we celebrate the story of Ben Laker – you may recognise from our recent video! Ben joined the Abels team in November 2020 as a Porter / Packer after a recent move from Lancashire to be closer to family. With previous experience in CAD drainage design & Civil Engineering, Ben’s personal skills, experience and physical ability were all seen as a positive attribute to our organisation. Upon completion of his induction and training programme, Ben soon became a fundamental member of the operational team during an extremely hectic and challenging 2021.
We are delighted to recognise Ben for his achievements to date and thank him for all his hard work and efforts; keep up the great work Ben!
Dave Potter, Operations Manager said “Ben has always been a positive employee since joining us. He has been extremely keen to be involved in some very prestigious events, including our annual involvement in the London to Brighton Vintage Car Rally and the grand opening of our new London facility. He continues to be a pleasure to have within our teams.”
Ben himself comments, “I have had a thoroughly positive experience working for Abels, while quite a change from previous careers, support from colleagues and the company allowed me to adapt quickly. I enjoy the variety of work and the constantly changing locations. I am currently training for my HGV license to allow me to progress within Abels and I look forward to a long and prosperous career ahead.”
