For Removals & Storage:
Abels Moving Services is a long-standing member of the British Association of Removers (BAR), membership number A001, and abides by its strict Code of Practice.
Abels is a member of the British Association of Removers Advance Payment Guarantee scheme. This scheme from the 1st July 2017 is a replacement for the previous scheme run by IMMI. Members have paid subscriptions into the fund to provide that coverage. Each company’s accounts are audited yearly to ensure they are not a large risk to the fund. Should that member cease trading, your move will be completed without further cost to you.
Developed in 1990 by a partnership of leading businesses. Investors in People is central to helping employees become customer-focused and enables organisations to meet customer needs effectively. Abels was the first Removal company to attain this accolade.
Abels are audited to BS (British), EN (European) ISO (International) 9001 – 2015 Quality Standard. This is a commitment to quality embodied in a set of processes that ensure a common sense approach to the management of the organisation, understanding our clients’ requirements with a drive to achieving total customer satisfaction by constant customer feedback.

FIDI (Federation Internationale des Demenageurs Internationaux) exists to provide a forum for the advancement of integrity, quality and mutual co-operation to those companies focused on the intercontinental movement of household effects. Every member of FIDI is independently audited on site to check that it meets the stringent quality requirements. This confirms that you are in an experienced and safe pair of hands from start to finish.
FAIM is the approved version of FIDI’s worldwide recognised industry quality standard for inter-continental removals. It consists of a single yet stringent compliance procedure and ensures that FIDI companies work towards a worldwide common standard for managing and performing international moving services warranting global consistency of quality and services. FAIM is administered by the FAIM Coordination Centre (FCC) based at the FIDI office in Brussels.
The Overseas Remover section is a dedicated group of companies within the British Association of Removers, specialising in all aspects of overseas removals. In fact, fewer than 100 companies in the whole of the UK can claim to meet the criteria and high standards required for membership.
The International Association of Movers (previously called House Hold Goods Forwarders Association of America), is a global association of over 2,000 members in over 170 countries. Since 1962, IAM has been working on improving the kind of service and information that we provide to you, the customer.
Abels Moving Services Ltd is an authorised member and agent of The Movers Trading Club Ltd (MTC) which is a Foreign (non-USA) based ‘Non Vessel Operating Common Carrier’ (NVOCC) registered with the US Federal Maritime Commission (FMC), organisation number 027552.

As part of our bespoke FF&E services, Abels Moving Services are delighted to be an Industry Partner of the British Institute of Interior Design, the only professional institute for interior designers in the UK.
Since its inception in 1974, LAPADA’s membership has grown to over 550 members making it the largest association of professional art and antiques dealers in the United Kingdom. Membership is only open to those who meet the Association’s requirements as to experience, quality and knowledge of their subject.
