Abels Bedford MLD removal truck took part in the 56th Annual HCVS London to Brighton Run on Sunday the 7th May 2017. The run starts at Crystal Palace in London, passing a halfway halt at Crawley High Street and finishing at Madeira Drive on the seafront at Brighton.
The Bedford MLD is shown in the Historic Commercial News Brochure for June/July 2017.

There were two awards for the Abels Bedford MLD for the event. There was a First Place for the Class D category for Large Vans and Lorries built between 1940-1959. Additionally there was a runners up concours award for the Abels Bedford MLD.
